All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle. - St. Francis Assissi
Andrew William Kleschick, 33, of Cincinnati, passed away on September 26, 2026, at peace in his home.
Born in Indianapolis on August 6, 1993, to William Kleschick and Leslie Bjelk, he graduated from North Central High School, where he ran cross-country and played percussion in the school band, and later from the Williams College of Business at Xavier University with a degree in Finance. He spent his entire adult life in Cincinnati, and in 2021 bought his first home in Deer Park.
Andy, as he was known by loved ones, will be remembered most for his quiet, gentle and kind nature. He was generous to all beings, and even when the complexities of social life were confusing, he sought only to bring good into others’ lives. He was raised around and loved animals, appreciating the simple, unconditional warmth of their company. He marvelled at the birds visiting his birdfeeder, lost many battles with the squirrels, and often found newborn fawns placed by their mothers for safety in his yard. As a child, he would construct worlds and storylines from his imagination with Legos, and he spent his summers outside in nature and with his local swim team, memories he cherished into adulthood.
Andy had a deeply curious mind, and could often be found buried in books so thick that he had to carry them under his arm rather than in his hand. His hunger for knowledge and understanding of the world spanned from fantasy fiction to economics and history nonfiction. As he grew into adulthood, he carried his analytical thinking and love for data into his membership with Xavier University’s student-managed investment program, and later through a 10-year career in the insurance industry. He brought his empathy and kindness to volunteer work, most notably hurricane relief efforts in his father’s home state of North Carolina.
Throughout Andy’s time in Cincinnati, he found joy in the company of friends, whether gathering at local breweries, golfing, competing in fantasy football leagues, or watching his favorite teams—the Boston Red Sox, Indianapolis Colts and Xavier Musketeers. He never missed an NFL Sunday or an opportunity to watch a game with a friend, and he especially loved watching the PGA and following the sport he enjoyed so much himself. Andy also considered himself a Bourbon enthusiast and co-hosted the Distilled Discussions podcast, where he shared his abundant knowledge of distilleries with anyone willing to listen. He brought genuine love and passion to the things he shared with his friends, a quality that made his friendships so meaningful and is already deeply missed.
The impact of Andy’s life will continue to be felt among close-knit friends and family across Indiana, Ohio, Virginia and California. He naturally gravitated toward others who, like him, had an understanding nature and saw the best in others. He is survived by his parents, William and Leslie, and his brother, Daniel Kleschick. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roger Bjelk and Nola Breckheimer; his paternal grandparents, William Jr. and Margaret Kleschick; and his aunt, Margaret Ledbetter.
A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations to the Cincinnati SPCA. Donations can be dedicated to Andrew Kleschick, with communications sent to:
