Elizabeth Tuckwell

Elizabeth (Beth) Anne Tuckwell, age 78, recently of Middleton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside on April 17, 2026. Beth was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and lived in Norwood, attended Norwood View Elementary School, and graduated as valedictorian of the Class of 1965 at Norwood High School. She went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, in 1969, and a Juris Doctor Degree from Yale Law School in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1973.

Beth spent several years working in the Midwest, and then moved to Alameda, California, where she passed the State Bar and pursued a career in law. Beth cared for her elderly father for 20 years while working full time as an attorney. She also provided legal services pro bono to people who needed legal assistance but could not afford it. In her spare time, Beth ushered at the San Francisco Opera. She thoroughly enjoyed opera, and Carmen was her favorite. She also traveled the world. When she traveled, she enjoyed staying with families in other countries whenever possible because she felt she learned much more about the culture of a country that way.

Beth is survived by a brother, Chris Zimmerman, sisters Janet Becker (Ed) and Caroline Lukaszewski (Tony), nephews Nathan Becker (Joy) and Drew Becker (Alice), and nieces Lorian Gibson (David) and Catherine Whalen (Steven). She was preceded in death by her parents, John P. Zimmerman and Mary E. Zimmerman.

Per Beth's wishes a graveside service for family members will be held on May 6. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
