Gary Warren Vice, Age 77, of Norwood, Ohio, passed away November 9, 2019 of complications from radiation treatment received in early adulthood.  Gary was born in Cincinnati on February 1, 1942 to Stanley and Ruth (nee Graves) Vice, of Pleasant Ridge.  He graduated from Deer Park High School in 1960 and served in the USAF as a Maintenance Technician on the P-47 .  In 1966, he was hired by Eastern Airlines and enjoyed a 35-year career doing exactly what he loved, eventually retiring from AirTran Airways in 2002.  Once known around town as "Gumball Gary," he was always running some kind of side-gig from managing rental properties, running a car wash, selling water purification units, renovating old houses, or making waffle cones at his frozen yogurt store.  More than once, accounts were "Paid in Full" with giant buckets of quarters collected from his vending machines.  He was an avid baseball fan and collector of antique automobiles.  He enjoyed snow skiing, going for drives and "forgetting" the map, outings to Coney Island, walking, Sudoku, and exchanging inappropriate jokes and poor table manners with good friends over lunch.  "Do what you say you're going to do when you say you're going to do it." was his creed and you always knew he cared when he took the time to talk with you about the importance of responsibility and perseverance.  He is survived by his children, Eric (Courtney) Vice of Mount Washington and Tara (Troy) Cappelli of Wichita Falls, TX, grandchildren Piper and Cooper Vice and Quinn, Camryn, and Vivian Cappelli, siblings Gayle Edwards and Gilbert Vice, uncle Wayne Vice, cousins Dave, Sue, Phil, and Nancy Vice and Ron and Jenni Dreffer, and former wife Joel Vice Hursting.  Gary wasn't a fan of the spotlight and elected to forego a memorial service, rather he would prefer that time be spent visiting with an elderly neighbor or veteran.  Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati.
