Michael L. Reed

Michael Reed, 77, of New Richmond, formerly of Norwood, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2026.

Michael was the loving husband of Candace (nee Rowe), with whom he shared more than 50 wonderful years of marriage. He was the adored father of Phil (Emily), Patrick (Abby), and Christopher Reed, and the cherished grandfather of Lauren, Lila, Everett, Lucy, and Ethan. Dear brother to Barbara Reed and Kathi (Don) Wilson. He was also survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A proud public servant, Michael served in the U.S. Navy as a radio man during the Vietnam era and later dedicated 25 years to serving the community as a Norwood firefighter.

Michael had a love for adventure and the outdoors. He and Candace enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the United States, proudly visiting all 50 states. Of all the places they explored, Glacier National Park held a special place in his heart.

Above all, Michael treasured his family and the time they shared together. He will be remembered for his devotion to Candace, his love for his children and grandchildren, his service to others, and the many memories he created with those he loved.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, August 28 at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Church, 2420 Drex Ave, Norwood. A visitation will begin there starting at 10 AM until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation at www.t2t.org
