Thelma G. M.D., nee Guilas beloved wife of the late Francisco S. Villanueva, M.D.; devoted daughter of the late Jose and Dolores Guilas; Loving mother of Marie (James) Kreiger, Dominic (Marie) Ducanes, Nelson (Josie) Villanueva, Dr. Edward (Fabiola) Villanueva, Michele (Rodger) Ollis and the late Elizabeth (Greg) Jackson; also survived by 14 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. Thelma was a Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology, was sponsored and trained at Hahnemann University and Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Thelma served as Staff Pathologist at the Veterans Administration of Philadelphia and taught at all affiliated medical schools. Dr. V. (as she was known) Joined the Army Reserve, converted to Active Duty and retired from the V.A. and then retired from Active Duty as Pathologist at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology as a Full Colonel. Dr. V. was also the recipient of the Purple Heart. Finally, Dr. V. specialized in Molecular Pathology as Director of DNA Analysis, Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio where she served for twelve (12) years. The last decade included volunteer work as Eucharistic Minister in the Military, Cincinnati, Ohio and West Chester, Pennsylvania Catholic Parishes. Dr. V was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign War, Post 106 and supported all veterans Groups. Passed away on Saturday December 24, 2016. Residence West Chester, PA, age 85. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday January 6, 2017 at Saints Simon and Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct., West Chester, PA 19382 at 10:30 AM, where friends may call at the Meehan Center at the Church from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM. After mass a luncheon will take place at the Meehan Center from 11:30 AM to 1:15 PM.
